It’s not enough for politicians to come out to shake our hands and ask for our vote. Those days are over. As a community we need to keep track of the performance of our commissioners so when its time to vote, we have a good idea who we should vote into office. Our neighborhood report card will reflect their performance and the progress that they are making in a number of important areas. We must set goals for elected officials, hold them accountable and keep track of it so when it’s time to vote we can make the best decision for our community.

City of Miami Commissioner, Keon Hardemon - We’ve witnessed Commissioner Hardemon’s passion when it comes to wanting to do good things for the residents of Overtown and we commend him for his efforts. Commissioner Hardemon needs to bring some of that passion to our community. It appears that he doesn’t care much about constituent services and interaction. Commissioner Hardemon appears to have forgotten that he is there to serve all of District 5 not just one section of the district. We would like to see the commissioner make himself available to the community not just his staff. Commissioner there is only one way that you can go, and that is to improve your grade. However, his Community Affairs Liaison, Rosenny Augustine gets high marks from the Association. She goes above and beyond to attend our Association meetings.  She answers questions from residents and tries to find solutions.

Garry LaFaille NET Office - Garry understands the need of the community. His quick response and problem solving while dealing with a limited budget from the city is amazing.  He has been an asset to the Association.

Miami Police Department - The Miami-Dade Police Department needs to work on public trust and respecting its residents.  We hear time and time again how there is not enough Police presence in our area.  The residents would feel a lot more safer if the Police would do regular drive by’s.

Miami Parking Authority - Humberto Escandon, Off Street Administrator, has been very instrumental in our transition to Residential Parking in our area. He was present at one of our meetings and advised the residents of the benefits of having this program implemented.

Miami Code Enforcement - Code enforcement has not meet the needs of our Association or the residents of this area. They have failed to meet with this Association and have been given countless invitations. We would love to have a representative meet with our Board.
